Hospital traineeship.

Abstract

The paper analyzes the impact of healthcare reforms that have occurred in recent years in Italy: on the relationship between patients and healthcare system, on the relationship between physicians and patients. The widespread criticism of users about the healthcare functioning is opposed to the so-called defensive medicine and the search for profitability in the interventions provided, according to the alliance between general managers and head physicians within the hospital. In order to cope with this increasing dysfunction that is mainly problematic in the departments of emergency medicine and ER, the restoration of the communication-information relationship between healthcare professionals and patients-families is proposed as well as the strengthening of this function seen as possible role of clinical psychologists.
